Penelope

These are my good friends Joe and Sammy. They recently had a beautiful little girl named Penelope. I had the honor of her first photoshoot.

Keep in mind that if you ever do portraits of newborns, DO NOT USE FLASH! Newborn babies should not have such visual stimulation. These shots were all with natural lighting.

The first shot was backlit from a large window. If you don't want your backlit pictures to be dark, use spot metering or bump up the exposure compensation or you will have dark faces. Shot with D700 + 85mm 1.4.

The second shot was simply in their living room, sitting on a couch. I zoomed in close enough with the 80-200 2.8 to eliminate any distractions from the frame. Luckily I caught an intimate moment of Sammy and Penny.
